To make use of Battery Saver, once turned on, just turn your phone upside down, and the screen will darken to display a faint Pokemon Go emblem. The game will still be on, and will still track your movements - you just won't see it. Yet, you will still get a notification or rumble if you approach a Poker stop or a Pokemon appears, so you could immediately pull the phone from your pocket to socialize!
These blue icons are often landmarks, sculptures, noteworthy buildings and more, and becoming close to and swiping the image that appears in the circle will score your free things like Poke Balls to catch Pokemon, Eggs to hatch Pokemon, and upon reaching level 5 - Potions and Revives to heal your Pokemon from Gym Battles.
To use the Poker stop, you must transfer your character near enough to activate it (there's a ring around your character that reveals how close you are). Once you have it activated, you must tap on the blue icon, then swipe to spin the blue disc that shows a graphic of the place in your display. This will release pieces. You can either tap to accumulate them, or just leave the Poker stop and they will be rolled up anyways.
You may also monitor any nearby Pokemon by tapping on it and tracking the list of nearby Pokemon. If you are going closer to your selected goal, the carton in the bottom corner will start blinking when the Pokemon moves nearer to the top of the list and have less (or more) footprints.
Note that merely seeing a patch of moving grass on the map does not always mean a Pokemon will immediately pop up if you're close enough - but some will often appear if you walk around the place long enough.
Pokemon Go will give players an idea of the Pokemon in the nearby region with icons appearing the bottom right-hand corner of the app. They remain shrouded in shadow when you haven't yet got that sort.
If you are in a pretty lonely place, consider taking a trip to a local park, mall, or another hotspot where you are likely to find more points of interest that will, consequently, give you more free pieces.
With endless server outages at the game's start, the settings may occasionally be reset - so make sure you check the settings from time to time to makes sure battery saver is still empowered.
Even after you catch a creature out in the wild, simply open up the "Pokemon" option in your menu, click on a specific one, and give it whichever name you'd like. (And yes, at launch, you can include classes in your Pokemon's name.) Pokemon Go contains an option in the settings to begin a Battery Saver mode, but it doesn't describe what that does - in fact, simply turning it on will not do much of anything.
Some light searching in the tall grass of your surroundings should be excellent on a half-charged phone, but for long expeditions along local routes, make sure you go out with a fully charged phone --- and possibly even bring an outside charger along in case things go bad while catching a Pokemon.
Contrary to most Pokemon games, Gym Conflicts in Pokemon Go aren't turn based - though strikes can't be spammed either. To assault, simply tap the display, and your Pokemon will deal its first assault as soon as its able. To deal a particular attack, you'll need to hold down on the display and release. To perform a special attack, you'll need to charge the meter below a Pokemon's health until a pub is complete - different specific attacks have distinct meters. To dodge, swipe to the sides before the strike hits.
It's possible for you to tell which move is the Pokemon's basic attack and which is its unique by the order the moves are listed in.
The app also includes a "Battery Saver" alternative in its Settings menu, which darkens and minimizes the game when the phone is upside down (rather in one's pocket) but still tracks and alarms when Pokemon or PokeStops are struck.
Not only will the tracker list nearby Pokemon, but the variety of footprints underneath the Pokemon will dictate how far away that Pokemon is (one footprint being close and three being further away). You can monitor an individual Pokemon by tapping on it, at which point simply that Pokemon will appear in the bottom right corner, and the icon will begin blink if the steps change when you're closer or further away.
When on the map, in the bottom right corner you'll be able to find a tab that lists any nearby Pokemon.
